Day 276: OCD and Food

Noticed this piece in a local publication today, which immediately called to my inner OCD, and caught my food eye, simultaneously:

Day 275: Market on the Miami

Inaugural display, Grubb-Shop Provisions, Market on the Miami:

Market on the Miami

Day 274: Um, Yes. Delicious

Scratch made bourbon chocolate pumpkin bread:
Made with homemade pumpkin puree, big chunks of Scharffen-Berger chocolate, and OYO bourbon. FTW.

Day 273: Fit Bits! Part II

Balls! And in a pair! Naturally...
I had my brother and sister-in-law, who are very into the running and the biking, and the general fitness, Guinea Pig some of my new "active" goods recently. One of the problems which needed remedied, for on-the-go consumption, was the stickiness of the raw fruit bars I had made.  Enter the balls! Heheheh... Anyway, problem was solved by changing the shape and rolling the, er, orbs in an included ingredient (ground oats for the blueberry and ground cashews for the raisin). The result: raw fruit energy, akin to the Larabar, freshly made, without all the bluckiness you sometimes get from processed bars.

Day 272: Fit Bits! Part I

Upon tiring of overpaying for granola, protein, and energy bars with sometimes questionable ingredients, I've decided to take it upon my (reluctantly) baking self to make my own. And sell them to like-minded active and athletic sorts who are also tired of paying for weird, sometimes questionable ingredients:
Enter Fit Bits!, as I've christened them. They have tested well early, and I've even sold a few!  Yeah!

Black Bean Brownies, for the protein. I had sample of these out at Market on the Miami, and people were very surprised by how tasty they really are. Kids really liked them too, one little boy asking his grandmother to buy him one, to which she happily obliged.
